Biloxi, Mississippi - Corso, Inc. will be celebrating it's rich history of 100 years in October of 2023, with Liz's father founding the business nearly a century ago. Today, under Liz's guidance, the company continues to thrive. Her daughter oversees the micro markets, store, casinos, and school, while her middle son manages the computers, cell phones, and radio operations. Additionally, Liz's other son handles wholesale product purchasing and logistics, ensuring the seamless functioning of the company's operations. And recently her grandson Jack Joachim IV has joined the organization and is already making a positive impact.
Corso, Inc. specializes in offering a diverse range of products, including cigarettes, tobacco, candy, drinks, sandwich meals, cookies, pens, and pencils. Their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has helped them establish a strong presence in the wholesale industry.
Beyond her successful business ventures, Liz is an active and esteemed member of various organizations and boards. She serves on the Peoples Bank Board and holds Board Member positions at Tulane Gulf Coast University, Merit Health Biloxi, Biloxi First, Gulf Coast Carnival Association, Ohr O’Keefe Museum, Salvation Army, and Gulf Coast Business Council Masters Program and Legislative Committees. Her involvement in these esteemed institutions highlights her dedication to the betterment of the community.
Throughout her illustrious career, Liz has received numerous accolades and awards that acknowledge her exceptional contributions. Some of her notable achievements include the 1996 Biloxi Outstanding Citizen award, 1985 First Lady of Biloxi recognition, 1986 Biloxi Mother of the Year title, 1998 Keys to the City of Biloxi honor, 1993 American Tobacco Company First Lady Award, The Sun Herald South Mississippi’s Outstanding Community Leaders Class of 2010 recognition, Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce Pat Santucci Sprit of the Gulf Coast Award, American Red Cross 2016 Humanitarian of the Year distinction, and the MGCCC Sam Owen Award 2019 Homecoming Honoree recognition.
When not busy with her professional endeavors, Liz enjoys taking walks and appreciating the natural beauty around her.
